WHO:
Currently the camp has 20+ residents from Scotland, England, Wales, the Netherlands, Finland, Belgium, Canada - and visitors from around the world.
WHAT:
F.P.C. is a collection of 11 caravans, a bus, a tipi, a bender, a treehouse, and various sheds and self-built structures.
WHY:
The camp's purpose is to oppose nuclear weapons, and live in an alternative way to the society that produced them.
See Britain's Current Nuclear Weapons System for details
WHEN:
NOW!!!! The camp has been here since the 12th of June 1982. Protests and a temporary peace camp existed before that, but there has been a permanent presence since '82. Hopefully we will be there till they've got rid of the nukes.
WHERE:
F.P.C. is on the east verge of the A814 road, which leads to HNMB Clyde and beyond. The camp is therefore visible to all traffic coming towards the base from the direction of Helensburgh. We are about 30 miles north west of Glasgow, by the Gareloch, a River Clyde estuary sea loch. Faslane Naval Base is on the Gareloch.
