Visitor Centre

UPDATE - October 2003
This project will be considered as part of the Faslane Peace Camp Land Trust project.

Brief
This is to be a self-build timber-framed Visitor Centre dedicated to the Peace Movement at the Faslane Peace Camp. It will be a place for residence at the camp and also an interpretive centre explaining the philosophy and action behind the worldwide movement for nuclear disarmament. The Centre will provide a doorway to welcome visitors in for coffee, inspiration, reflection and the sharing of friendship in mutual solidarity. It will be constructed using traditional building techniques from locally grown timber, milled by the GalGael Trust, a local community group working to regenerate the celtic culture of the Clyde estuary. The GalGael will also be providing a granite carving dedicated to the work of CND to mark the significance of the building.
