Feminist Avengers Strike Again!!!!!

On the 23rd of September, the Feminist Avengers took action against the war machine. After assembling nuclear weapons at Aldermaston, the convoy makes its way up to the Coulport Base on the West Coast of Scotland where the warheads will be stored, waiting to be fitted onto nuclear submarines. The warheads are transported in super-lorries up the country, past primary schools and hospitals, through villages, towns and cities.

Dressed in pink and silver, the women stood by the road as the convoy started to pass, held by the police (obviously for their own safety!). When the police released them, to go speeding off in their van, the women held hands disheartened. Then, to their surprise, they saw the last convoy truck with only a police motorcycle escort. The women took the road with just a pink and silver flag (allegedly RTS) stopped the truck and climbed on top, remaining for an hour, acting obviously, in the interests of their own safety - and everyone else’s.

Calling all women, it’s time again as always to take action as sisters, mothers, daughters and lovers. Our hearts are with all in Afghanistan, we act in solidarity with our sisters oppressed by the Taliban, as we do with our sisters oppressed by the capitalist, patriarchal system in which we live. Unable to flee as political refugees, the people in Afghanistan now face the threat of carpet bombing.

We shout of the hypocrisy of selling guns and tanks to a country then waging war against it. We seek a new way, a co-operative, loving way forward - rejecting the ways of the patriarchal states - and calling for action.

We celebrate all life and weep for all death, we take direct action to show we are not consenting with the war ways of those who conspire globally to exercise control through fear. We will not cease till war is no more.
